Idling stop technology for diesel locomotives
The A.S.T. LTP system is a fully autonomous and automatic diesel fired heating system that protect locomotives by heating up the coolant water system in the engine block as well as engine oil, air compressor to allow shutting down the locomotive engine, stops the locomotive idling during stopovers. It reduces operating costs by saving approximately 95% to 97% fuel consumption compared with idling, and simultaneously reduces green house gas emission, increases the operation life of the locomotive, reduces the surrounding area noise level, and cuts down the service costs.



A.S.T. Power management systems for rail vehicles
A.S.T. Power management systems ensure the power supply for preheating, airconditioning and frost protected parking of rail coaches and railcar trainsets. The systems have been developed in cooperation with the former BZA Munich and the DB Energie in Frankfurt and can save up to 40% of energy compared with manual operated preheating or airconditioning.



Together with our EBZ GMbH (R&D and sales center for fuel cells) we also develop new technologies for energy management and saving.
